Tall Oaks University[edit]

Campus - Visitors Room:

Head downstairs and follow the marker to the closet where the professor (NPC) is hiding. Once you have that section down, you may equip and explore your inventory normally.

Leon and Helena Emblem 1-1[edit]

In the storeroom where you find the professor; you should be able to call up your subscreen for the first time in the game. Check the corner of the room for a storage closet for this emblem.

Follow the professor to find his daughter, who you need to waste via a Quick Time Event (QTE) to survive. Leave the elevator and head straight for the exit in the parking lot.

Tango Golf Charlie[edit]

Seen one virus, seen 'em all (T, G, and now C). Unless this is a replay of the chapter, horde ammunition by using Leon's knife (Helena will need to use more judicious melee to save ammunition) and collect ammo for your weapons. Herbs, grenades and ammunition are available in the classrooms, and there's nothing really 'puzzling' about this section. If you are lost, resort to the Objective Display Marker.

Find your way outside (to the college green) and make your way to the hallway (if you know about the locked gate already) or opt to get Hunnigan's message about the locked gate to the university parking lot.

Achtung Alarm[edit]

In order for Hunnigan to crack the electronic code, she first needs to trigger it. Just like in another infection in a city, far, far away, loud noises will draw in the infected. Hold out in the small hallway by shooting the fire extinguisher (on the bench) when the place gets crowded. Pick up all items here; you do not come back until a little later (and all dropped items will vanish).

Leon and Helena Emblem 1-2[edit]

In a desk drawer after the alarm event. You can get this emblem coming or going to the keycard.

Survive the attack and engage in a QTE with Helena (keeps the door shut) while Leon pops the zombies' heads with his handgun (just aim and shoot). Explore the teachers' lounge for the security keycard; if you're away that the zombie body near the keycard will activate once you take the item, you can ready yourself to avoid it by moving in (from the left) to take the card and immediately move left to avoid the attack.

Afterschool Escape[edit]

Leave the university via the security gate. Ignore the metal detectors and simply get to the door. Once there, get to the street outside, and hold the Sprint button to both run and mantle over the street barricades to the vehicle.

Inside the vehicle, Helena needs to wait for the Leon player to look around for the key. You can explore the glove compartment (right), and the wipers (left), but the keys are in the visor (up). Leon simply needs to follow the button prompts to start the car and engage the escape.

Subway System
[edit]

Descend into the sewers after the car crash. There is no Browning Hi-Power in the glove compartment.

Underground:

Leon_-_Chapter_1-3_-_Underground.jpg

The Taking of Tall Oaks 123[edit]

There are three moving trains in the subway -- two of them will come right at you in the first subway tunnel. Complete the QTE in time (you may need to stay near the subway tunnel wall to do it) and the subway will roar past, incidentally killing anything on the track (zombies included).

Leon and Helena Emblem 1-3[edit]

In the tunnel where the third moving subway train is (the tunnel ends with Leon helping Helena unlock a subway train door), there is an emblem at the very start. Check the tracks of the motionless subway train for the item.

Proceed down the tunnel, and zombie dogs will mark the mid-way between the first and second subway tunnels. The second subway tunnel has the third moving train, which comes from behind, and cannot be dodged (stay on the opposite track to avoid being struck).

Open the locked subway train by boosting Agent Helena Harper to the roof. For Helena, she needs to drop into the train car and unlock the door for Leon. The zombie in the traincar can be avoided if Helena sprints and leaps down the hole (she will roll past the zombie, instead of dropping down in front of it).

Station Business[edit]

The final obstacle to the next zone is a shutter, about four spitting zombies, and your patience. Remote mines are usually found in the item boxes on the platform here - they are designed to be placed (one at a time, unfortunately) at the shutter to blast the zombie gang who appears after the fat woman opens the way for them.

When enough of the spitters are killed, two leaping zombies will appear on the platform and head your way. If you don't intend to stay and fight, you might as well slip past the horde and exit the subway.

Left For Dead
[edit]

The city streets will be full of zombies, and even if you have Item Drop Increase, the enemies don't really drop much of anything except 50 Skill Point rewards. The best bet, apart from getting a few easy kills early on, is to run straight for the next section until you get to the gun shop.

The Locked Door[edit]

Continue through the streets and interior areas until you get to a room with a news report about a sinking submarine; just past that family of dead people is a locked door. Grab the key, avoid the zombie ambush, and step outside.

Weapon - Shotgun[edit]

The dead riot policeman has this handy eight shell baby in his cold, dead hands. You will find it once you open the locked door past the dead family watching the TV news, and before the checkpoint where you meet the Shrieker.

Shrieker[edit]

A lone Shrieker will introduce itself to you. Without the benefit of Firepower Level 3, or even some high powered weapons, you are going to need to be judicious in staying away and plinking the monster's throat, or using a shotgun blast (or three, without power-ups) to shatter the Shrieker's voicebox. Kill it before moving into the next building, or you will be overwhelmed by zombies.

Separation Anxiety[edit]

Past the Shrieker, Leon will need to boost Helena over a gate to unlock it from the other side. Until Helena unlocks the door, zombies will continually pour in to the small gated area.

Leon's best place to hole up would be the top of the stairs - it puts all enemies in one neat row that can be destroyed with Incendiary Grenades or a Remote Mine (place the mine before boosting Helena over).

For Helena, she needs to shove a dumpster off the catwalk, then unbar the door. Once she does, both characters can move to the second alcohol-serving tavern.

Leon and Helena Emblem 1-4[edit]

The second tavern is just past a gate you open by flinging Helena to a metal walkway with a dumpster. In the bar, just search at eye level. The blue emblem should be obvious.

Infected Finale[edit]

Leaving the tavern and back onto the street starts the chapter's finale, which has Leon and Helena fighting with at least a few other NPC bots. Stay near them so they can provide firepower and targets for enemies to attack (instead of you; they cannot die). Explosives are your friend from here on out. If you have a stack of them (esp. a maximum of five), use them.

Gas Station[edit]

Scarf up all the items in the gas station, as that area will be inaccessible after certain events. Stay on the street (away from the station's pumps) after you take all you can hold.

Kill the Shrieker who appears; when the SWAT van breaks the pumps in the gas station, wait for the cut-scene to tell you when to ignite the gas. Once you shoot the fuel, almost all enemies in the area will die (collect their items).

Gun Shop - 1st Floor[edit]

Using Remote Mines at the right spots in the gun shop will be key to surviving the Bloodshots who appear towards the end of the enemy waves on the first floor. Take the ammo and incendiary grenades from the shelves and counters, and have a blast.

Save explosives for the armored SWAT zombies and the Bloodshots. Chances are, your first few times through, you will not have the ability to one-shot kill Bloodshots with a Shotgun at point-blank range (you can with Firepower Level 3 on Normal).

Gun Shop - 2nd Floor[edit]

Survive the zombie attack and then head upstairs. While the shop owner is talking, mix herbs and take items. Set the remote mine in the corner of the shop where the two walls with open windows meet; that's a good spot to cause an explosion to clear the space.

Kill the Bloodshots who pour through and don't forget to pick / clear your inventory for ammo and recovery items as needed. This level of frenetic action is typical of Mercenaries Mode, and players used to that should have little problem.

The Whopper[edit]

The fat zombie (Whopper) will crash through the door with a Bloodshot. Kill the Bloodshot first (it's an easier kill), and then deal with the Whopper by blowing out its legs (to stun it), then focus fire on its head (to kill it).

Resident

In case you're wondering how you'd get enough time to do this, it should be obvious -- after the Whopper breaks through the door, just slip by it and go back to the room you were in before. This is Resident Evil - not rocket science.

Rooftop Escape[edit]

Head for the rooftop after taking all items in the closet and the drawers (open them near the tables). Wait for the cut-scene where the shop owner falls over the rooftop; once that happens, place a Remote Mine near where the Whopper and Bloodshot will mantle over the fence.

Resident Evil Wiki Leon Kennedy

Blow the mine when you can kill the Bloodshot (it's more dangerous since it is quicker; it's also easier to kill). The Whopper is easy enough to dodge, and to disable (crunch its legs). Follow the party when they escape the roof and down the fire escape ladders.

Inside the bus, focus fire on the Whopper's head; once it is pushed back, the bus starts up and the chapter ends.
